How to Disable Saving Submission Data for a Form in Viformy #

Viformy lets you choose whether a form should store customer submission data. If you disable Save submission data, the form can still show the success action after submission, but Viformy will not save that submission in the Submissions page.

What Happens When This Is Disabled #

When Save submission data is turned off for a form:

  • Submission data is not saved.
  • The submission will not appear in the Submissions page.
  • Admin notification and customer auto-response emails are not sent.
  • Third-party sync will not happen.

Note: Customers may still see the configured after-submit message, redirect, or close action, but the submitted data will not be stored.

Step 1: Open the Form Builder #

Go to the Viformy app in Shopify Admin, open the Forms page, then open the form you want to update.

Step 2: Turn Off Save Submission Data #

In the Form Builder, open the Settings tab. Find Save submission data and turn it off.

Step 3: Save the Form #

After turning off the option, save the form. New submissions from this form will no longer be stored in Viformy.

How to Enable It Again #

To start saving submissions again, go back to the form Settings tab and turn Save submission data back on. Future submissions will be saved after the option is enabled.

Common Questions #

Will old submissions be deleted?

No. Disabling this option only affects new submissions. Existing saved submissions remain in the Submissions page unless you delete them manually.

Will emails still be sent?

No. When Save submission data is disabled, Viformy skips saving and does not send admin or customer notification emails for that submission.

Will the customer still see the success message?

Yes. The storefront can still return the configured after-submit behavior, such as success message, redirect, thank-you image, or close action.
